On November 8-11, 2023, the AHK Greater
China Xceleration Days 2023 was successfully held in Shanghai, China. Over 900
domestic and international guests from political, business, academic, and
research spheres have come together to experience AHK Greater China’s most
significant event of the year. Dr. Clas Neumann, Chairperson of the Board of
German Chamber of Commerce in China - Shanghai, Mr. Hua Yuan, Deputy Mayor of
the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Dr. Patricia Flor, Ambassador of
the Federal Republic of Germany to China, Mr. Wu Ken, Ambassador of the
People's Republic of China to Germany (via video address), and Mr. Wan Gang,
President of the China Association of Sciences & Tech, delivered welcome
speeches at the opening ceremony.
Complementary advantages and win-win
co-operation in the automotive industry
China and Germany have extensive cooperation
in the field of automotive industry. Germany has a century of deep accumulation
of automotive technology. With a century-old accumulation of automotive
technology, Germany leads the world in production technology, high-end
manufacturing, semiconductor, sensing and other forward-looking technologies,
with a complete industrial chain resource and high brand awareness and
reputation among global consumers.
China has the world's largest automotive
market, with a rich variety of applications. Due to its pioneering
advantage and strong investment in the field of intelligent and new energy
vehicle, the domestic intelligent and electrified automobile innovation level
is at the forefront of the world. The younger, more diversified and more open mindset
and concept of Chinese auto consumers make it easier for new technologies, and
other innovative activities to achieve commercial success in the Chinese
market.
Under the trend of intelligence development,
it is the unanimous consensus of Chinese and German enterprises on how to
further improve the safety of intelligent driving and accelerate the mass
production of high-level ADAS functions. The intelligent automotive industry
chain is further integrating and improving with the joint efforts of both
sides.
Against this backdrop, Chinese and German
enterprises are actively cooperating to complement each other's strengths
through joint R&D, market development, and investment in setting up
factories. Chinese new energy vehicle enterprises have set up factories
overseas, and traditional OEMs such as the Volkswagen Group have invested in
China and cooperated with leading technology enterprises. The two sides have
cooperated in cutting-edge fields such as new-generation vehicle platforms,
electronic and electrical architectures, software architectures, intelligent
cockpits, and power batteries. Both sides are deepening technology exchanges,
promoting industrial transformation and growing hand in hand in fair
competition.
Green and low-carbon life requires
intelligent transportation transformation and upgrading
To combat global climate change, to achieve
carbon neutrality and to promote green, low-carbon and sustainable development
is a common goal for China and Germany. Therefore, the green and low-carbon
upgrading of the transport sector has become a priority for the Chinese and
German governments and companies to further deepen their co-operation.
In 2015, the transport authorities of the
two countries launched a low-carbon transport cooperation project to exchange
ideas in the direction of transport digitization, innovative technologies and
transport integration. This joint effort is promoting the sustainable and
low-carbon development of future transportation.
At the enterprise level, numerous innovative
products for intelligent transport are emerging, and have been widely
demonstrated and applied in China and Germany. Among them, the roadside sensing
intelligent transport products and solutions developed by LiangDao Intelligence
are running in many cities in Germany. Through the high-precision 3D sensing
capability of LiDAR. LiangDao's products provide strong data support for the
intelligent upgrading of traffic, help to improve the efficiency of urban
traffic, optimize the traffic system, reduce traffic carbon emissions, and
achieve green and sustainable mobility.

At the AHK Greater China Xceleration Days
2023, Dr. Xueming Ju, CEO of LiangDao, took part in the roundtable discussion
on "Redefining Mobility", and when asked how China and Germany can
establish a more appropriate partnership in the era of intelligent driving, he
said frankly: The era of intelligent driving is rapidly changing. China and
